Deadlines, Deposits and Details

I consider myself to be a fairly organized individual. Having said that, I must conceed that I will lose my mind about deadlines before this wedding takes place. I keep things on a calendar, but there is just so much! Booking vendors, working out prices, designs, etc and then 1st deposits, 2nd payments, headcounts, final lists, vendor information. Yikes.

Just today I had to mail out 2 second payments and 2 first deposits for vendors, with another one to go out in a few weeks--thank goodness there are reminders typically sent, because there are too many contracts floating around in my head and my filing cabinet.

Thankfully, we have been fortunate to book several of our vendors by referrals from friends and others in their business. I absolutely endorse our DJ, Elite British DJ, Mick Scrivener. He's been wonderful to work with so far and we are excited he will be handling the music and flow of our ceremony and reception.

Tony Eisenhower is the photographer we booked (after a terrible experience with another photographer who we decided not to work with), and Tony is great! He was so much fun for our engagement photos, we are really looking forward to seeing our wedding day pics as well.

The florist we learned about from a referral from a friend, Elegant Touch Floral Design, their arrangments were beautiful at our friend's wedding, and the prices are the best we found.

To be perfectly honest, in finding the wonderful vendors above, we also encountered a few vendors that we would warn people against as well! Trust me, I am pretty critical of all things, and I really like everyone I mention above to work with so far!

DETAILS...
We are getting married at the Admiral Kidd Conference Center and are hoping for a sunny day. There is a beautiful view, it's right on the water, and very reasonably priced. Being a military base, there are of course, a lot of regulations and deadlines. We knew that going in, but now that it's time to make sure all of the guests remember their parking pass, getting all of the vendor info (license plate #s, names, dates of birth..etc)...it feels like a lot of lists that are due by a certain day.

Is it common, as a bride-to-be, to feel like your head may explode thinking about all of this stuff? In reality, I know we have time to do all of it, and that it will all get done...but thinking about it at once makes me shudder a bit. Anyone relate?
